Yakutia International Science Games

Yakutia International Science Games are continuing in Yakutsk and one of the biggest events of the Games is the International Science Fair MILSET Expo Vostok. The Expo is taking place in the Triumph Stadium.

The Expo is organized by the regional branch of International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology MILSET Vostok.

The Expo participants are the students of different schools of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), as well as the students from different regions of Russia, Kazakhstan etc. The Expo is held in form of open interactive stand project presentation, allowing participants to present their work to completely different audiences - experts, guests and even elementary school students.

Nowadays only Science unites people from all over the world. Big global challenges are set in front of the humanity today, and only by merging our efforts together we will achieve development of our planet. And it is you who will make it - our young researchers and scientists” - addressed the participants the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mr. Vladimir Egorov.

The Expo participants were also welcomed by the First President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mr. Mikhail Nikolaev, Vice-President of International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology and Director of Youth Science Canada Reni Barlow, President of Regional Branch of MILSET Vostok, Chairman of All-Russian Movement of Creative Teachers “Researcher” Aleksandr Leontovich, the President of International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology MILSET Roberto Hidalgo (Mexico)

The Expo represents all areas of STEAM Projects: Scientific Activity of the Students, Technical Art, Applied Decorative Art and Maths. The participants and their supervisors have meticulously prepared their projects. The Expo has more than 50 works and best projects of students and their work is pretty impressive.

The student from Alma-Ata M. Gandhi Special Lyceum #92 - Togyzbay Shynar studies the quality of water which is consumed by the citizens of Alma-Ata. She studies the water transparence, taste, smell and acids. In his turn, the 8 grade student from Sakha Polytechnical Lyceum of Yakutsk City - Albert Atlasov developed a Math learning computer game. He told us that he tested the game with the 6 grade students from his school. The student of Suntar Polytechnical Lyceum - Yana Nikitina is studying the subject of logic thinking development among the pre-school kids. As she noted, a child must understand the right structure and order of the traditional ornaments.

Also, the workshops of Yakutian traditional sports and traditional household items crafting are held in the frameworks of the Expo. The Expo will be open until Tomorrow, the 12th of July 2018.
